The area has been called an "environmental crisis".
A reporter visited the scene and reported the mound appeared to be "20ft high at least".

Waste criminals have deposited a huge quantity of garbage in a field in Oxfordshire.

The "ecological disaster developing in full view" is approximately 150m (490ft) long and 6m (20ft) tall.

The enormous heap has materialized in a field alongside the River Cherwell near Kidlington.

Parliament representative raised the problem in parliament, saying it was "posing risk of an ecological catastrophe".

Conservation group said the unauthorized garbage pile was established around a recently by an criminal network.

"This represents an environmental crisis developing in plain sight.

"Every day that passes raises the danger of toxic run-off entering the waterways, polluting wildlife and threatening the health of the whole watershed.

"Regulatory bodies must take action immediately, not in the distant future, which is their standard response period."

A restriction order had been implemented by the environmental authorities.

It is difficult to identify any specific bits of rubbish as it seems to have been pulverized with earth blended.

A portion of the rubbish from the uppermost part of the pile has toppled and is now only five meters from the stream.

The River Cherwell is a tributary of the River Thames, which signifies it travels through Oxford before meeting the Thames.

Parliament representative stated the cost of removing the rubbish would be significant

The MP requested the authorities for help to eliminate the illegal tip before it resulted in a blaze or was washed away into the water network.

Speaking to elected representatives on this week, he declared: "Lawbreakers have dumped a mountain of unlawful polymer rubbish... weighing many tons, in my electoral area on a riverside area next to the River Cherwell.

"Stream volumes are increasing and heatmaps indicate that the garbage is also heating up, increasing the threat of fire.

"The Environment Agency said it has inadequate funding for compliance, that the estimated price of removal is larger than the complete annual allocation of the regional government."

Environment minister stated the government had taken over a failing waste industry that had caused an "widespread problem of unlawful waste disposal".

She informed MPs the organization had issued a access ban to halt more entry to the area.

In a statement, the organization said it was examining the incident and requested for information.

It commented: "We understand the community's concern about occurrences like this, which is why we respond against those responsible for environmental offenses."

A recent report found initiatives to combat major waste crime have been "extremely overlooked" despite the situation developing into more extensive and more advanced.

Government advisors suggested an autonomous "root and branch" examination into how "widespread" illegal dumping is tackled.
