The First Xbox Game Pass Games of 2026 Show Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the knell for Microsoft's gaming division. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Platform-specific outlets have started writing regarding Sony's platform as a new development. The past year represented complete chaos for the Xbox ecosystem. But if we're going solely off the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it's evident that Xbox continues to plan to draw people in with quality releases on its flagship service.
The Current Inclusions
The duo of games currently accessible as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Upcoming Headline Games
Starting January 13th, the platform will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that breaks up typical Ubisoft design with a cosmic robbery tale. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, hailed in past assessments as "the perfect cocktail of terror and combat."
Intriguing Niche Additions
But even the smaller games set to join the catalog deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler offering thrilling gameplay, becomes available next week — and it's worth experiencing regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year may draw you in in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by Rebellion Developments, is also a game to check out. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Robust Selection of Games
All in all, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, nor are they tentpole Microsoft studios games that validate the subscription alone. However, this batch of games are rock solid. There's a good mixture of past releases that passed you by and fairly new titles that lacked the recognition they warranted upon launch — rendering them excellent choices to find a new audience on Game Pass.
Be prepared to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
